We become where we put our focus on
You become what you give your attention to. If you yourself don't choose what thoughts and images you expose yourself to, someone else will.

Our brain is an extremely tricky structure. What we put in, what we feed it with, directs our lives. A recent panic attack made me realise how easily we can lose control over our mind. And so, it can happen that we no longer control our minds, but our minds control us. This kind of unconscious behaviour decreases in proportion to increased self-awareness. The more we know ourselves, the more we see the processes that determine our minds. And as we become more conscious, we can more easily change our patterns.
Why do we keep falling back into our old thought spirals over and over again?
Rewriting decades-old programs within us requires patience and perseverance. It is important to give ourselves enough time for this process and accept that we may not always succeed. Recognising the state of relapse is a significant step in itself.
Taking the time to train our minds is also crucial. By being consciously selective about the information we receive, we can protect our mental state and prevent ourselves from falling back into old thought spirals. Negative news and overwhelming information can have a harmful effect on our minds. Listening to positive affirmations and participating in guided meditations can be a great support in our journey towards self-awareness.
In addition, detaching ourselves from the online world can help us find our true voice more quickly. We don't need to absorb every piece of news or information. By being mindful of what we expose ourselves to, we can better control and guide our thoughts.
Increasing self-awareness and consciously choosing what we expose our minds to are essential for breaking free from old thinking patterns and taking charge of our lives.
